History is one subject in the galaxy of subjects that teachers its readers not only the subject, but also a lot of wisdom. Most people hold the view that history is just a list of events that have occurred and put only in a chronological order. True history is a chronological list of events. But, if we study it only as that we are missing on it and we are not giving the subject its correct status.
This subject has such a large perspective of things that, no other subject that is studied ever can be without its history. Science has a history, technological development has a history, religion has a history. No subject of any significance is without a history, then how can we say that history is trash. If man had not discovered that fire could be produced by rubbing two stones, how would the theory of creating fire come into being? If the ancient man would not have produced the wheel, how could we know to the present uses of the wheel? If the Hindu religion did not have the division of castes, how would the present situation f castes come into being? So we can say that the very essence of man's progress is based on history and its study.
The evolution of man itself is based on history, its progress and most of its scientific and technological developments are all the results of man's history, of the history of evolution had not been bound into history books, and if we had not read these books, how we would know about our past, and how we would maintain the tempo of development and progress. Man learnt from his mistakes, his experiences, the shortcomings of his ancestors, and continued to progress. Is this not a contribution of history? Does this not make the study of history important for us? The one single subject that had contributed so immensely to the constant and continuous growth of civilization is the history.
Another plea for not studying this drab subject is when people say history is just what passed away people have done. In this regard we must remember that we are not only studying what they did but in the process, we are trying to understand what mistakes have they committed, and why? It has often been said that, history repeats itself. This means that if we repeat the same mistakes we will reach the same opponents. Is this very little an advantage of study of the subject that, as people, as a community, as a country, we realize the mistakes of our ancestors, and we do not commit the same mistakes and get the same results? So, here comes the wisdom conveyed by this lone subject. It is only after the study of history that we can assess the mistakes of the precedent generations. It is from history the Britishers have learned the imperialism can not continue for ever. It is from history that Indians have learned that we have to remain united to keep the country one single unit, to keep it safe and strong. It is the study of history that makes the modern world shudder to think of another nuclear holocaust.
The memory of Nagasaki and Hiroshima is still fresh in the minds of the world and so the fear of repetition of this keeps us aware and cautious. If we had not studied all these facts written in our history books, our reservoir of knowledge would have been much less, and we would not have been so well aware of the results of certain actions. Is this not enough of a gift to the world, of just one single subject?
If there would not have been this subject, how would we ever be able to assess how much man has progressed from the animal he was, to the highly sophisticated creation of God that he is today? How would we ever know about our own India's rich cultural heritage, and so also how would we have been able to assess how and why we have become a third world country as we are today? Again, all this because of our study of history.
The differences of culture in different parts of the world are also brought to our knowledge by the history of the world. It is only through the study of history that we come to know about the social, political and educational systems of the world, and we can adapt them to our country, if we feel the need. History! Including gaining knowledge, this subject teachers us wisdom of life and teachers causes and effects of different actions. If we continue to learn from our history we will never make the same mistakes again – and that would be quite a step forward. Like science, history also gives us formula. Science gives formula for progress of elements and history gives us formula of success. If we learn from History, we humans will certainly continue to forge ahead, and become a more and more disciplined and cultured force.
Along the big lessons that we learn from History, it also teaches us how to have in our day-to-day lives. We learn how discipline helped the forces of Alexander the Great to overcome Indians, and how at the same time and venue, the undisciplined forces of India surrendered to them. We learn how with their service to India through missions, the British could steadily spread their wings through the length and breadth of India. We learn from history how love for mankind made saints of Vivekanand, Gautam Buddha and Mahavira. We learn from history how, man's desire to dominate others result in the ultimate break up of the British Empire in India. The greatest lesson that history has taught us Indians is the lesson we learned from our struggle for independence, ie we learned how much we can achieve if we stand united and have flare for nationalism.
Thus, this single subject which often faces the – ridicule of students and elders provides us with a sea of knowledge, insight and wisdom. It also teaches what the finer feelings of love and service can do for man. This one subject teachers us to become human and of course, it is the alma mater of all other subjects, as the history of any subject is taught before starting the study of the subject itself. It may be said that history is the mother of all other subjects, and should not be considered as, only a chronology of events, of the world, it is much more than just that. It is this subject that gives us the understanding of all countries that we can assess our position and then continue on our path of progress.
When we study the biographies of great men, we learn how to follow their footsteps and try to achieve at least a semblance of their greatness. These biographies teach us the qualities of great men which we can emulate and try to be achievers. This single subject makes such an intense contribution that it will not have any of us to talk of it in a jocular tone, on slight it. It teaches us to be good humans. It teaches us what actions are likely to have what reactions. It brings to light our rich heritage and also teachers us how the other countries are progressing. So we can say that history is a great teacher.

If you are to look at any system that has a serious car stereo in it you will most likely notice that most have a digital sound processor. The first time I saw one of these I thought it was just an overpriced bass boost, and that my current amp would do basically the same thing. Little did I know that a bass processor is much more than a bass boost.
A bass processor is installed before any crossovers or signal processors. So it would be hooked up right after your in dash unit. Always install before your crossover. At first you might think that a bass processor would be just for bass heads. This is not the case a bass processor can also improve the low end sound of all music from classical to rap. So what exactly does it do?
A good bass processor contains a circuit that accurately recreates and injects low frequency information back into the signal, giving your bass more impact. A bass processor will also allow you to customize this low end power to your specific vehicle. It does this by allowing you control the para-bass functions. What this does is allows you to adjust the sweep and the width of the bass.
The sweep will let you pick a certain frequency you want the bass restoration circuit to maximize. Having a lower sweep the bass will be centered around lower frequencies. While having the sweep higher means it will be centered around a higher frequency. While the width allows you to control how wide of a frequency range it will effect. If you have the width low the bass will be centered around a smaller frequency range, and turning this up higher will increase the frequency range.
So with all this bass processing going on you might be worried about your expensive subwoofers. I know that is something I was worried about when I first installed a “epicenter” by Audio Control a popular bass processor. I was mainly worried about the subsonic frequencies that can damage your stereo equipment.
If you look at any good bass processor will come with what is called subsonic filter. Subsonic frequencies are those that are not audible to the human ear. Sound frequencies that are below 20Hz are considered subsonic. A good bass processor will have a subsonic filter that will make sure you don’t waste your car stereo’s power on this subsonic information and will make sure you are putting all of your systems power to good use.
A subsonic filter is a huge feature to being able to fine tune your bass response. On most systems setting this filter at 33Hz will be good. If you want to protect you’re your speaker system even more though you can try a higher frequency. Often a higher frequency will sound louder and cleaner.
So whether your interest is in Beethoven’s kettle drums, Miles Davis’ trumpet, or the percussion of rap music, a digital bass processor will restore those long lost bass notes.

Did you know that you can take Spanish lessons online? This saves you a lot of stress because you can go to class whenever you wish and dressed in your pajamas if that is what you want. With online lessons, you study at home, get your assignments and quizzes online and submit them the same way. You can take a course in Spanish for credit at a college or one for your personal interest in learning the language.
There are courses in Spanish online where you can study at your own pace without a specific time period to complete each lesson. The only requirement for many of these courses is that you do log in to the instruction site at least once every two or three days. You can review any lessons as you feel you need to and progress at your own rate. If you are working a regular job, you may be able to devote only a few minutes or perhaps a half hour a day to learning Spanish. In this case it may take you several months to complete the course. Others may have lots of time and want to become fluent as soon as possible and devote the same amount of time to the online lessons as if they were attending classes in Spanish full time.
Through taking online lessons, you can easily be able to speak Spanish to suit your own purposes. Maybe you just want to know enough of the language to travel to a Spanish resort, order a meal, give directions to the taxi driver or book a hotel. Others might want to be able to converse easily with the local people, enjoy shopping and nightlife and maybe even stay there and get a job.
There are also courses you can take so that you will learn vocabulary you need in a specialized profession. This does not mean that you want to travel to a Spanish -speaking country to work. With the many Spanish immigrants in the US, for example, police officers and firefighters need to be able to speak some Spanish to be able to help those in need. The same thing applies to the medical profession. There are many patients coming to the hospital or clinic who can not speak a lot of English and in order to help them you might need to learn medical Spanish. There are many reasons for learning Spanish and just as many ways to learn it.

The three red flashing lights on an Xbox 360 is now a well-known phenomenon. The gameplay is fine and suddenly everything stops – the screen freezes, the graphics go strange, the sound becomes white noise or vanishes altogether and there is nothing you can do about it. Rebooting is ineffective and now you are completely lost. The system refuses to work, it is no longer under warranty and those three lights just will not stop flashing. They seem to be the only thing on the console that does still work.
This seems to be a very common problem and has been happening since the Xbox 360 was first released. Various warning signs rear up in advance, including sudden freezes and the system suddenly being unable to read various disks. You should fix this problem before the system completely collapses so as to avoid the stress.
So what actually causes all this to happen in the first place? Well, the combination of three flashing red lights is known as the Red Ring of Death and happens when your system's hardware dies, also known as a general hardware failure. The lights appear around the power button, replacing the four green lights that you see when things are going fine. You may get quite a lot of advance warning, such as the issues mentioned above, before the system goes completely, but it may also happen only once. So not all problems mean that you are about to experience a general hardware failure.
The Red Ring of Death issue has become so widespread in this console that a large number of web sites have appeared providing repair guides for this and other errors. These are software packages that can be downloaded and installed on your computer to provide you with a blow by blow explanation of the process you need to go through in order to fix your system. These usually come in the form of text instructions, videos, PDF guides, online technical support and access to parts of the site that are only available to members, among other things.
You should be aware that these guides, however, often do not work and can often cause more harm than good. If you are experiencing the Red Ring of Death and need to get your system fixed, find a professional with experience in solving this issue. You are more likely to get what you paid for and keep your system functioning properly.

Failure is a significant part of the learning process. It is important to accept that much of what we learn is through trial and error.
There is a perspective that one needs to keep in mind when things do not go as planned. That is, people usually experience some degree of failure on the way to success! The key element of failing is to learn from the challenge, reevaluate, and move forward with renewed determination. All successful people do this.
When you fail to achieve what you had in mind, you are of no less value. If you are willing to make mistakes and learn from them, you have actually increased your value by the knowledge you have gained. If this is your mindset, then it is not necessary to dwell on the fear of failing. Instead, the focus is on finding a path through, under, or over challenges to reach your destination.
Perhaps in the process you have discovered a route to avoid, or a new path has been disclosed, or new resources of help have appeared. When people succeed in acquiring their goals, it is because they persisted towards the desired end result in spite of the obstacles that surfaced. It is very rare when unexpected challenges do not occur when pursuing a worthy endeavor.
Successful people often consider their failures as their greatest lessons towards achievement. Winston Churchill was known to say that success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm. Does that offer a new perspective on failure?

Here is an English Lesson to give you some additional information and learning to check if you are using a word or phrase correctly. I always write about this topic because of the many inconsistencies I read in blogs, tweets and the like. It is sometimes very painful to read since most of them claim that English is their first language. This article is not put down anyone, it is actually meant to help and correct. So do not take it the wrong way, just think of it as constructive criticism.
A lot of people like to inject the word " literally " to put emphasis on what they are saying. Although it is somehow and with much disappointment already tolerated and accepted in urban dictionaries (and the society), it is actually being used in the wrong context. Literally is derived from the word literal which according to a Webster dictionary means: strictly based on the exact, standard meaning of the words or construction of the original. So the word 'literally' means in a literal manner. You can say that someone is literally green with envy but it's really improper to say that you actually have to pee. Are you literally a direct translation of peeing? Then you literally have to get out of here! Just kidding! Maybe we should really stop saying that word just so we can show how important what we are saying. Use it moderately, correctly and to describe a figure of speech to its "literal" meaning.
Another thing that is tickling my little pet peeve is the incorrect use of your and you're . I know it sounds a bit elitist to say that but if we are constantly writing about anything online where everyone can read it, then at least get the basics correctly. The word 'your' is of, relating to or belonging to 'you'; for example, your car, your computer, your child, your Majesty. The word "you're" is a short way of saying 'you are', it is the short version of that phrase so it would be incorrect to you write 'your very pretty' since the correct way would be to say; you're very pretty.
I know I have written about it before but let me reiterate that alright is not a word. What I think you may want to say is "all right".
" Anyways " I think really just originated from a casual social conversation and was not meant to be taken seriously but it has gotten out of hand and must be taught to younger kids that it can not be used in a business or formal setting. Use the word anyway.
So take this English lesson to heart and try to read more about it. It will not hurt you to study more about it especially if you are actively using and participating in social networking in the World Wide Web. You will never know who is looking at your page so keep it simple and do it properly.

The best way to learn Spanish is through an interactive audio learning course. Several of these are available on the Internet. You can almost always find a digital form of the learning course that can be downloaded in its entity in a few minutes (depending on your Internet connection speed).
These Spanish learning courses are not free, they are for sale. But almost all of them offer free downloadable Spanish lessons so that you can get a feel for the course and how it is taught.
Just like the merchant who offers you a sliver of cheese off of the large block he is selling, so you can taste it and decide if you want to buy some. As a prospective buyer, you get a free sample.
It's a fair arrangement. You do not want to, "Buy a pig in a poke!", And the merchant does not expect you to. But good language-learning courses cost money and the sample is only that, a small sample of the real (whole) learning course.
It is the same with the cheese! The sample is free but cheese costs money. For more than just a sample you need to pay.
There are some free downloadable Spanish lessons out there, but they are mostly poor or questionable quality. The old adage that free advice is usually worth about what you pay for it, applies to free language lessons as well!
Just think about it for a moment. Why is it free? Usually the answer is that it is free because if anyone had to pay anything for it they would not buy it!
And also ask yourself, what's your ability to speak good Spanish, to understand and make yourself understood, worth to you? Are you really willing to risk learning it wrong or with a bad accent, for just a few dollars?
In any case, Let's make it easy for you to find some quality free downloadable Spanish lessons.
You can use one of the links below to get free downloadable Spanish lessons in the form of a 6-part mini-course. Another link will take you to a list of downloadable Spanish language-learning courses, most of which offer some sort of "free sample".
Good luck and good hunting!

The guitar is not the only instrument that tab, or tablature, is used for, but it certainly is the most prolific. Tab is a form of graphical representation of the notes as they are formed on the guitar itself, making it essentially an easy to follow guide to the finger positions required for playing particular sounds. Often, music or songs will come with tab in the form of simple letters above the lyrics rather than diagrams. This is the second of the 2 step method for learning how to play guitar using tab.
The first step of tab is to understand the tab diagrams. They take a variety of different forms but are very much simply variations on a theme. In essence the tab diagrams give you a picture of where your fingers should be on the guitar neck; therefore all will have 6 lines which represent the string, and all will have a means of relating which should be pressed down on with that string.
Most of the fret number is represented with a digit, but sometimes each fret will be drawn out as on the guitar itself and a blot will be placed by the appropriate fret. If there is no number on a line, or if there is a '0' this means an open string and you should not be placing your finger anywhere on it. If there is an "x" on the line, this means that it is a dead string.
A dead string applies to chords that do not use all of the strings, in other words, a line with an "x" should either have a finger on it, nor should it be strummed. This form of graphic tab is excellent for learning how to play as it is simply a case of copying the diagram. However, for site reading a piece it is not practical because it simply takes up too much space and is too complicated to create. Therefore, guitar players use this form of tab to learn all the chords, and once they have learned them they can move onto a more simplified form
The more simplified form of guitar tab is found most often accompaning song lyrics and is simply a letter placed above the lyrics. These letters represent the chords that need to be played. Therefore in order to follow this type of tab you need to be comfortable with all the chords, and once you are, you simply glance above the lyrics and play along accordingly.
It is very easy to learn how to play guitar using tab and it is a very successful method. However, it should be noted that learning to read music has many values also, and whilst it absolutely is not necessary for playing guitar and not even recommended for learning guitar; once you have already learned, the ability to read music and the world that that opens is incredible and invaluable.

We all make mistakes. Can you imagine making yours in front of 111 million people? And in an age where news travels faster than the speed of light?
Before Christina Aguilera could even finish the incorrect sentence of our National Anthem, her blunder was tweeted and Facebooked out to millions. Yet, she continued on with grace and skill.
In the following days, the majority of bloggers, reporters, and tweeps focused on the fact that she'd made a mistake instead of giving her credit for having the courage to continue on without breaking down.
I believe there are three valuable lessons to take from Christina's Superbowl experience.
# 1 – Put yourself in the other person's shoes. You, no doubt, heard this from your parents and Kindergarten Teacher when you were a child. As adults, we often forget the importance of empathy. Instead of automatically criticizing or poking fun whenever someone messes up, let's shower them with kindness. Say something positive and stay away from feeding the negative. After all, is not that what you would want if it were you?
# 2 – Own up to your mistake. Whenever I screw up big time, I often want to hide from the world. I'm sure a part of Christina wanted to go home and bury herself under the covers. Instead, she remarked: "I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place. I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through."
# 3 – Have the strength to carry on. Watch the video of Christina singing on Superbowl Sunday. She severely misses a beat after the mistake. She keeps on singing with all of her heart and soul. Someone else may have stomped off or burst out in tears. The next time you make a mistake, gather your courage and just keep going.
Yes, we all make mistakes. If your next one takes place in front of millions (or even a grateful), give me a call – I'll jump on Twitter & Facebook and let the world now how wonderful courageous you are putting yourself out there!
